Tenth Muse Poetry Workshops:Poetry Workshop for Novice & Experienced Poets

What Diane says about The Tenth Muse Poetry Workshops:

According to Samuel Taylor Coleridge, poetry is the best words in the best order. These words are uniquely the poets and may through the revision process become poems, which will merit a place in any publication. In creating, there is always room for revision, as T.S. Eliot writes in "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," for decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse. The poet always has final say in the completion of his/her poem(s); however, "workshopping" can be a means whereby a poet is joined by other poets in the tedious revision process. This workshop will afford each poet a unique opportunity to read/perform one of his/her own poem(s) in front of others; to hear their work read by another; and to have constructive input from others, while being guided by the workshop leader. Revisions by peers are only meant as suggestions (to be regarded or discarded). This workshop may be just what you're looking for to assist you in the revision process and ultimately help you in finishing a poem, or it may get you just one step further along in the revision process. Whatever the outcome, this will be an enjoyable event."
Diane has twelve years experience as a Poetry Workshop Leader with an emphasis on metaphor and images. She founded and led the Center City Poets Workshop (2006-2011) at Borders Bookstore on Broad Street in Philadelphia and conducted The Tenth Muse Workshops on April 26, 2012 for the Delaware Literary Connection; on November 10, 2012 at the Hop Angel Brauhaus in Fox Chase; and on October 4, 2014 at Ryerss Museum and Library, as Poet in Resident (see "About" page). On February 21st, 2015 she hosted a workshop at the Main Street Baptist Church in Doylestown, PA.
